Happy Holidays!
I'm taking a short break from my Game of Thrones series to do a stunning, smokey purple New Years Eve look inspired by the Selena Gomez music video "Love You Like A Love Song". I'm not really a fan of Selena or that song but her look in the video is too pretty not to want to try and copy. The look is really simple so anyone can wear this and feel like royalty, regardless of your makeup skill. Here's a close up shot of the eye so you can see how simple and stunning it is:

My favorite part of the look (besides the luxe lashes from Velour) is the gorgeous prismatic pigment on the inner corner of the eye. I'm always raving about the Annabelle Mineral Dust Pigments and this is no exception. This white shade is "Prism". Prism is a gorgeous diamond white loose pigment with light pink and purple undertones that plays well with any cool colored shadows. I used glycerine to apply it wet to get the highly pigmented sheen you see here. I faded it up into the purple on the lid and across into the purple on the lower lash line for that gorgeous gradient effect.

This look is really colorful and has a lot of impact, so play the rest of your face with subtle shades. The eye uses a mix of cool and warm colors so you can go either way with your blush/lips. I wanted to try a warm coral color on the cheeks and lips to keep me from looking to pasty, but if you wanted to pair this with an icy pink lip and a light champagne highlight on the cheeks, that would be beautiful as well.

Here's the original look - as you can see I toned it down a bit to make it a bit more wearable for a holiday party

I looked really herp derp in all my face forward shots so that's all you guys get for today, lol. If you'd like to see a tutorial for this look before NYE, let me know in the comment section below and I'd be happy to oblige.

And don't forget, there's still time to vote for my look on Makeupbee. The grand prize is $500.00 which I'd love to share with you guys in a HUGE giveaway but I need your help!!

Hey guys, I'm back with another look for my Game of Thrones series. I have to start this post off by saying that this look is HEAVILY inspired by Josh aka Petrilude of YouTube fame. He is far and away my favorite beauty guru so I've always wanted to try one of his more artistic looks and the sun one was PERFECT for the House Martell look. I added my own little touches to it (glitter and rhinestones of course) and I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's nice to be thinking about the sunshine during these cold wintery nights so let this look warm you up!

The look is inspired by the rulers of the Dornish realm: The Martells, whose sigil is of a burning sun on a red shield, shot through with a golden spear.

The 3D appliques are just crumpled construction paper and I surrounded them with bronze and red rhinestones. I REALLY wanted to do a javelin through my lips (like the sigil) but it wouldn't stay. That was disappointing because it would have been SO hot - but alas I have no costuming latex in my kit yet. I'm still really happy with the look. Fiery, no?

It was hard to really capture the look close up (I couldn't get close because of the paper in the way) but here's the best shot I got of it. You can see the rhinestones and gold highlights a lot clearer here. I've been ripping through so much gold pigment lately I could put the Donald himself to shame. I just love how reflective and pretty it is.

Well, that's all the pictures for this look. If you want to try the tutorial out for yourself sometime then just click this link and let Josh be your guide. He's my absolute favorite, so many great tutorials. See you guys next week for another Game of Thrones look. Muah!

AND DON'T FORGET!

Nothing would make me happier than to put the prize money towards an EPIC giveaway for you guys with multiple winners but I really need your support so sign up, sign in and vote!! Thanks for all your love & support as always.
So I've been in a huge makeup rut lately. To be honest I think it's a product of my month off and being really really intimidated lately by the incredibly talented bloggers I follow. Especially recently with all the incredible holiday looks people have been pulling out. Really, there are some days I feel SO inadequate I can barely even pick up a brush.

Anyways, to fight this slump I decided to go back to basics ... so I'm rebooting the very first series I ever did - The Game of Thrones Series. This is my niche and my comfort zone so I turned to it for some much needed confidence and inspiration. There are so many new characters I've come across while reading the series so I just had to add more looks. The first house I'm adding to the collection is House Tyrell - the golden roses.

This look is inspired by the house sigil: The Golden Rose. I wanted to play with the greens and golds on the eye and incorporate the red rose color on my lips. I think it turned out beautifully - what do you guys think?

I even went out and made my own golden rose headband to add some extra drama to the look. It's so beautiful, I wish it was acceptable to wear things like this all the time. To make your own version, just pick up silk flowers from the dollarstore, a can of gold spraypaint, some hot glue and a gold headband to attach the flowers to. Voila.

After I finished this look and uploaded it I thought to myself, you know what - this look is actually pretty Christmas inspired. The green of the tree, the red of the poinsettas and the gold glitter so famous this season.

Anyways, I've entered it in MakeupBee's Holiday Look Contest and the grand prize is $500.00!!!! I don't expect to win but ... all I want for Christmas is your support if you like this look. You can connect via Facebook or sign up and check out all the thousands of incredible makeup looks on the site which I HIGHLY recommend - even if you don't want to vote.

And don't think I wouldn't share the love of that $500.00! I've been dying to do another giveaway for months now but don't have the cash to front it. This would be the perfect chance to give back for everything you've all done to support and inspire me. 'Tis the season after all. Love you guys <3
Welcome to the December installment of my blogger of the month series. Each month I will be recognizing and featuring someone who I believe to be a true talent in the beauty blogging world by displaying their work for you guys to see. I have included a interview as well as a gallery of their best work for the feature. And as a special treat, I commissioned an exclusive look for the monthly 'Pigments & Palettes Challenge'. The next blogger I've decided to feature is:

Dawnielle aka Dawn aka Siryn is a lady of many names and many more talents. She first contacted me a few months ago and expressed interest in being a part of my blogger of the month series. I'm happy to say that I've had a few chances to collaborate with her since and she's really pushed me and inspired me creatively. That's why I'm so pleased to be collaborating again and featuring her this month. It was a long wait to December but in the past few months I've seen her makeup skills flourish alongside her popularity. Pulling most of her inspiration from comic books, Dawn produces some of the most vibrant, colorful and exciting looks that I've seen. Her technique and blending is flawless and I really hope that you guys enjoy her gallery of work as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

HELLO HELLO! Oh my god, I can't believe how long it's been. I've missed blogging so much but I've been incredibly busy with Teachers College for the past month and had no time to breathe let alone blog. But all crazyness aside, I'm happy to say that I'm back with a beautiful look for you guys that I'm really very proud of.

As of about three weeks ago I re-discovered the song "Pretty Girl Rock" by Keri Hilson and I went on an absolute BINGE. Like, I went nuts and could NOT turn it off. Anyways, I was really inspired by the video for the song where Keri embodies beauties from across the eras. My favorite look was her Donna Summer Disco Look. I totally identify with the over-the-top glitz of day-glo disco wear and anything that glitters is good with me. So after a month long hiatus I wouldn't dare keep you waiting any longer, here's the look!

SWOON! Look at those lashes. They are probably my favorite part. The doe-eyed lashes borrow inspiration from 60's icons like Twiggy, but the shimmer and shine of the lid updates it to the Dawn of Disco. Anyways, I used a combination of matte, metallic and glitter shadows to produce this ultra-glam effect and I think it's SO pretty. This pewtery-bronze glitter compliments blue eyes beautifully but would look SO rich against brown eyes as well.

Since I was recreating Keri's look I went with a fuchsia lip and obnoxiously pink blush but I think this would be divine with a red lip and some gold based highlighter on the cheeks for a beautiful Holiday Party look. Would anyone like to see a tutorial for that?

Here's a full face shot of the look:

Here is Keri's version of the look for comparison (sorry for the atrocious quality, blame Youtube):

And for all you Pretty Girls out there, here's our anthem to send you off - check out some of the other amazing looks Keri sports in the video.

Thanks for visiting, I've missed you all dearly and I look forward to catching up on all your posts!
