BLOG DISCLAIMER

I do receive products from brands & PR representatives in consideration for review or mention on this blog, however I will always disclose in my reviews if a product was received as a sample. My reviews will always reflect my honest experience with a product; I do not promise a glowing review in exchange for gratis product. Additionally, I will not review or promote any product I have not tried personally. For samples of my past reviews, please visit the review section which can be located in the navigation bar above my blog.

Depending on the nature of the samples being sent, it may take me anywhere from 2-6 weeks to complete a full review and post; I like to spend a long time testing and experimenting with a product so that I can review it as best as possible. Reviews that require video supplements may take longer due to filming & editing times.

I blog in my spare time and hold multiple jobs. I get many PR requests and emails every day. So, please be patient if it takes me a couple days to return your email.

If you would like to send me something to review, please see the 'Contact Information' section, or e-mail me directly at pigmentsandpalettes@gmail.com

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What kind of camera/lighting do you use to take your pictures?
I use a Panasonic Lumix point and shoot digital camera. I typically use portrait and daylight settings but this does vary on when and where I take my pictures. I ALWAYS take my photos in natural light, through a window sometime in the mid-afternoon.

2. Do you / how do you edit your photos?
Yes. I do edit my photos. I have always been very open and honest about this. I even have a full tutorial on how I edit my photos  if you would like to learn how I do it or just to see what I do. For a program I use Adobe's Photoshop CS3. However, I do not edit the actual makeup or its colors. I edit my skin and adjust the light & shadows of my picture.

3. Do you take special requests for looks and/or tutorials?
I absolutely do! Though I typically will have a lot of looks / tutorials already planned when you make a request so it may take me some time to get to it. Please let me know if there is a deadline or any specific details for the request (i.e. - "My sisters wedding is this Saturday, could you do a natural look for brown eyes? Thanks!") Email me at: pigmentsandpalettes@gmail.com for any and all requests!

4. Can I write a guest post for your blog?
Unfortunately I do not accept guest authors on my blog. This is something I have done in the past but it was not well received and my readers have expressed little interest in these kinds of guest post features.

5. Your skin is so flawless, what is your skincare routine?
I always recommend the book "No More Dirty Looks" whenever people ask me this because ever since reading this I have drastically changed what I do for a skincare routine. I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Tea Tree Oil with Lavender essence as makeup remover and moisturizer and I ONLY wash my face if I've been wearing makeup. When I do wash my face I use a gentle hand held rubber scrubber to clean especially well but I recommend only exfoliating once every two weeks or else you will do more damage than benefit to your skin. Often times the chemical preservatives in skin products are harmful and will create more problems than they can solve so do your homework when looking into what creams to use. Every face is different so it's hard to give people advice on what to do since I am not an esthetician or dermatologist. And when my skin is particularly problematic, good coverup and Photoshop always save the day!

6. Do you not have any bottom lashes? Why do you Photoshop them out, it looks weird?!
Fun fact, I do have bottom lashes and I don't Photoshop them out of pictures. I have VERY few lower lashes and the ones that are there are VERY small and VERY few. They are essentially invisible, as you can see in my video tutorials. I do not edit them out, they are just impossible to see and I don't bother to put mascara on them because they look so sad and pathetic when I do. Now stop asking about this and making me feel like a freak of nature!
